Posterior Cruciate
Posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is required following an injury to the PCL if the knee is unstable. This usually only is the case if multiple ligaments are ruptured and thus a PCL reconstruction is normally a part of a larger reconstructive procedure. The PCL is sometimes augmented (reinforced) with a synthetic graft (LARS ligament).
Rehabilitation with a skilled physiotherapist is paramount for a good functional recovery from these injuries.
